The two Macedonia’s ski resorts are within a short drive from capital Skopje.
Ski resort Zare Lazarevski at Mt. Mavrovo peaks at 6,102 ft (1,860 m) and has a vertical drop of 605 meters. The eleven lifts can carry over 11,000 skiers per hour. The resort has three hotels and a nordic trail.
Popova Sapka ski resort is at Mt. Sar. The highest chairlift reaches 8,235 ft (2,510 m). Popova Sapka has 10 km of ski trails and host the annual European Cup race Sar Cup.
